Well, I'm not totally sure what the puzzle is yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had to "choose" a god to do something with. They are numbered 1-8.A possible clue is the total number of sides on the shapes on the plaque. A triangle plus a circle plus a square is 8 sides total, which might indicate Lyth, the mother of beasts. This structure resembles puzzles in other fourthcore modules, which allow for randomly generated answers to a puzzle. You'd just have to put a different set of shapes on that plaque to give a clue to the right answer. The metagamey-ness of this is making me cringe, but it's encouraged in fourthcore. :\
Well this is way off given the new info and So-tin's solution. :P
I thought the letters might be a substitution cipher (I took a few crypto classes in college) so the first thing I did out of habit was turn the letters into their appropriate number in the alphabet:3 14 15 9 26 5The mathematically astute of you already see:3.14159265Methinks the circle button is the key
Wow. Just wow. I would buy you a beer if I could.*slow clap*
I'm totally on board with this answer to the puzzle. We should press the circle, but So-tin should do the honors if he wants since he figured it out.I wouldn't touch the pouch until the puzzle is solves, unless we think we need whatever's in there. My guess is it's two more planets.
If we ever meet at a convention, I'll take ya up on that.Writing a post to push the circle button now. Need to keep moving so we don't fail due to timing out.
Also, someone should go claim those wings. I don't really need to be that mobile, so they're probably not that useful on me.
Bjorn, would you care to swap the wings for the sphere?
Yep, let's swap. That soulsphere looks tasty.
Like I said in the main thread, who has the highest Charisma attack? Mine's at 16, giving me a +6 I think. The perfume should go to them.
*Cross-posting an empty response instead of repeating myself*:)
Not being able to post during the day is *killing* me... Don't you people have jobs? ;P
Haha, yes. But what I do with my work time is very open. The benefits of being a grad student...
My main obstacle is time-zone, being antipodean and all, but I am not complaining, just happy to be here and not having died as yet.
Crusaders, be sure to read the latest posts. You are all in danger.
Okay! From what I can tell, the puzzle will take 8 minor actions:4,5,7,8,6,7,2,3Are we agreed?
No, your numbering order doesn't seem possible, especially the 7 in the third spot
4 down.5 left.7 up into the space left by the 5.8 left.6 down.7 right.2 down.3 left.
Okay, I'm an idiot >.< I was thinking 7 as in space 7 (which 4 slides in to and can't be moved once 5 slides in above it) instead of tile 7. Once I'm back on my personal laptop, I'll give it another look.
I thought that might've been my mistake, but then I realised there was no "space number 9", so the numbers referred to tiles, not positions.
I would HIGHLY recommend someone try to fix that portal. I'm guessing that's the trump here, and we're probably going to be facing progressively more painful things we haven't even seen yet.
I agree. Not many of us can beat that acrobatics check to get through the jaws, so fixing this portal will save us a looooot of damage.I'm happy to assist so-tin if he wants to try. I've got a +9.
Please, assist away! Gotta get a 14 or higher on a die roll as it is right nowAnd the solution given for the sliding puzzle has my full support
Okay, before I do this, I want some opinions.Gardain is going to:1- toss an open sack at the base of the pedestal and use his 10-foot pole to work the mouth open.2- use said pole to nudge the planet off of the pedestal and into the sack.3- lash a piton onto the end of the pole and spear the sack, drawing it back in.What says you? Also, yes I know the pit trap spotted is 15' across, I've already covered this with Joe and at full reach of 5' a 10' pole should reach. The only problem is this is going to be off of Dex, and I've only got a +1.
OR, I do still have 50' of hemp rope, I can cut a hole in the bag and loop the rope through, then nudge it in and not have to worry about spearing it.
Let's go people!
I will be posting over lunch break that will fast forward you guys a bit. Stay tuned!
Hey, I'm just waiting on everyone else to get their collective arse into the portal room! I already snagged the planet, let's make a hasty escape before the living spheres of annihilation get us too!
Let's go people. If the whole party doesn't speed up their posting, we're going to fail and die.
Did she come out of the coffin, or does something worse await us?
She did NOT come out of the coffin.
Oh I'm sure she'll have reinforcements at some point. All the better reason to focus fire her like crazy until she goes down, in my opinion!
The thing about foreign food: Kallista wouldn't normally go for this type of fare at home, but something about Sorrow's crypt made her think she wouldn't mind a little head.(Sorry. So very sorry. Not really)(You're welcome)And no jokes about us both being horned, I promise.
Shrunken craniums in a succubus lair was a pun I could not possibly resist. After years of players flooding my table with groan-inducing innuendo, it was bound to bear fruit at some point. Again, sorry.

Quick rules question: If I have a daily which sustains with a minor until EOMNT, can I only sustain it once?
I would think that means you can keep sustaining every round as a minor action, and if you don't sustain it, it lasts EONT. But that's just a guess.
From the compendium:"Some effects can be sustained for multiple rounds. Such an effect is labeled with the word 'Sustain.'"So yep, I think Joe is right.
There are multiple places you can go to from here.* The Blighted Grove, west of the Ashen Ambulatory.* There are two doors unexplored off of the Bleak Seminary.Where to next?
Gardain is about to start banging his shield and calling out the minotaur. If anyone opposes or would rather sit here and peck away at their health and gain blight until our time is up speak out before 5:00pm EST. Otherwise, I’m going out fighting. If we can’t finish this adventure then by Gods I’m going to burn it down as I go.
Sciora is in favor of this. It's blaze of glory time, in my opinion.
I suspect it will be go-time for battle. Feel free to look at the map, and place yourself ANYWHERE on it.The rubble areas are difficult terrain.
Solid Footing Prerequisite: Dwarf, You gain the earth walk ability (you ignore difficult terrain that is the result of rubble, uneven stone, or earthen construction such as stairs). Aww yiss....
Kalista, you've got the perfume, dominate this guy!
Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten it completely.
What should I have him do?
Any chance you can have him throw himself down a 50 foot pit? Seems to work pretty well in taking people out...
Have you got one in your bag?
I don’t think Looney Toons hole-in the floor physics work here, otherwise Gardain’s bottle of black ink would be perfect. Check the rules of ‘Dominate’ and see if you can have them attack themselves. I don’t think you can. Otherwise have him throw away that nasty axe and then charge the wall.
I rule that you CAN have dominated foes attack themselves. That's what happened to So-tin in the Pleasure Crypts! And if the compendium rules say others, I pull DM OVERRIDE!!!
Do your dominate thing, Kallista! If we need another get out of jail free card after that, I can banish the minotaur for one or more rounds once he's done being dominated.
Let's spend the next 24hrs inflicting another 40/50 points of damage and ending this with one more planet...
As soon as the minotaur takes his turn, let me take mine. It should be done by the time I'm through. :)
